A Tribute To Kebab

Reimagining a pop‑culture icon.

Döner Kebab was invented in the 1970s in Berlin and now  reigns as Germany’s most popular street food. Its unofficial logo has evolved into a pop‑culture icon, printed on wrappers, apparel, stickers, and beyond. But its designer remained a mystersy. As media gradually uncovered its origins, it became clear that more than one designer was involved. One of them is Orhan Tançgil.

Together, we revisited the past and reimagined the signet for Burger King’s new Kebab Style Burger. The new logo became the centrepiece of an integrated campaign, perfectly timed with renewed interest in the story behind the original signet.

About me

I’ve always been hooked on storytelling and worldbuilding, whether it's in video games, films, or even trading card games... Yes, hit me up if you wanna play a round of Magic! The attention to detail and clever twists that make these worlds actually feel alive inspire me every day to turn ideas into memorable emotional experiences.

In 2015 I joined Miami Ad School and since then I worked with lots of talented people and won over 100 awards at agencies such as:

Ogilvy / Tokyo
droga5 / New York
Kolle Rebbe / Hamburg
Jung von Matt / Hamburg
Antoni / Berlin
Grabarz & Partner / Hamburg
